Tirupur: Police are yet to arrest the killers of the 38-year-old man,
who was stabbed to death in the city on Sunday.
The victim, S Balamurugan of Kavilipalayam Pirivu, was a moneylender. He was running the establishment on College Road. On Sunday evening, a three-member gang that arrived on a motorcycle, hacked him to death when he was near the Iyyappan temple.
The Tirupur north police sent the body to the Tirupur Government Hospital for postmortem and registered a case. Preliminary investigations revealed that Balamurugan was murdered for refusing to lend money to a man. “We have traced the main accused and learnt that that he did the deed as he was upset after Balamurugan provided money to his brother but refused him,” a police officer said.
