LONDON: A body has been found at a notorious suicide spot in Britain that is believed to be that of the missing son of a
Telangana BJP leader.
Ujwal Sriharsha Sanne (24), who hails from Khammam in Telangana and was studying a master’s in London, went missing on August 21. A body believed to be his was found at the cliffs at
Beachy Head, on the
Sussex coast, on Sunday.
He had been pursuing a two-year MSc in
artificial intelligence at
Queen Mary University of London.
A backpack containing items belonging to Ujwal was discovered at the top of Beachy Head cliffs in Eastbourne on August 21. The cliff is the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain at 162 metres above sea level.
On August 22, the family could not contact him. An area search, assisted by a police helicopter, was conducted and missing posters about him were shared in multiple PIO-in-UK
WhatsApp and Facebook groups.
His father Sanne Uday Pratap, a BJP district unit president, and mother Varalakshmi, flew to London last week to assist in the search after receiving a letter from police saying they had found his rucksack at the top of the cliffs and started a missing person investigation.
