A 33-year-old man working in a private firm in England was found dead on the railway tracks between Ghatkesar and Bibinagar.
M. Gangiah, a native of Marturu in Prakasam district, committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train on Saturday morning, the Government Railway Police said.
He came to Hyderabad on Friday, after being informed about his wife’s death.
“On August 27, he returned to the UK after a brief visit to Marturu and came back on Friday morning, after his wife, Ramadevi, 25, ended her life,” Secunderabad GRP head constable Nageshwar Rao said.
Family disputes
He said that Ramadevi committed suicide due to family disputes and her parents lodged a case against Gangaiah. “Gangaiah reached the RGI Airport at around 3.30 a.m. on Friday and came to Ghatkesar and jumped in front of a running train,” the officer said. A case was registered and the body was sent to Gandhi hospital morgue for autopsy.
Second incident
In another case, a 55-year-old man was found dead on the railway tracks near Ghatkesar railway station on Saturday evening.
The victim, M Ramesh, a native of Aushapur village in Ghatkesar mandal, committed suicide by jumping in front of Palnadu Express.
“The loco pilot informed us about the incident and the body was recovered from the tracks,” said another head constable of Secunderabad GRP, David Raj.
He said that on Saturday at around 4.30 p.m. the victim left home in an inebriated condition and committed suicide.
