AGRA: A woman, claiming to be working with a senior
Aligarh lawyer, climbed atop a mobile tower on Monday and demanded registration of a harassment complaint against the Aligarh Bar Association president Kailash Babu Gupta.
The incident took place around 5:30pm when the woman climbed atop the tower at Niwri under Delhigate police jurisdiction in
UP's Aligarh. She refused to climb down till an
FIR was registered against Gupta, who she alleged had been sexually harassing her.
She claimed that she had given a complaint against Gupta to SSP Aligarh on Friday, but no FIR had been registered against him till date.
The high octane drama continued for almost two and a half hours. She came down from the tower after she got the copy of the FIR on her mobile phone.
Confirming the registration of the FIR, Aligarh senior superintendent of police (SSP) Akash Kulhary said that a case has been registered against Kailash Babu Gupta for attempt to rape and attempt to commit offence punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment. He added that the woman has been sent for medical examination to assess her mental state.
He said that another FIR was registered against the woman on the basis of a complaint filed by Gupta on Monday, alleging that she had been wrongly claiming to be a lawyer.
