CHANDIGARH: Police arrested a 35-year-old scrap dealer for allegedly molesting three women after entering their houses forcibly at Sanjay Colony in Industrial Area, Phase I, on Saturday night.
Guru Dutt Mishra allegedly barged into the house of a woman under the influence of liquor and started sexually harassing her. The accused thrashed her when she protested. Later, he went to the house of another woman and molested her. When her family tried to catch him, he fled. He then forcefully entered another house, assaulted the son of a woman and molested her. When she raised the alarm, neighbours caught him and informed the police.
Police registered a case under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
