Chandrayaan-2 successfully enters Moon’s circular orbit

The Indian Space Research Organisation, in a statement, said that the Chandrayaan-2 on Sunday evening entered the circular lunar orbit successfully. The integrated module’s entry to the almost circular orbit of 119 x 127km happened after the last lunar-orbit manoeuvre was conducted at 6.21pm on for 52 seconds. ISRO further added that, “All spacecraft parameters are normal and the next operation is the separation of Vikram Lander from Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter, which is scheduled on 02 September 2019, between 1245 – 1345 hrs (IST). Following this, there will be two deorbit maneuvers of Vikram Lander to prepare for its landing in the south polar region of the moon”.
