Ex-babu to monitor BCA election

Vadodara: The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) has appointed an ex-IAS as its electoral officer. This is for the first time that the association has appointed an ex-civil bureaucrat for supervising its election process. Sinha is a 1977 batch IAS who has served as chief secretary in the Gujarat government apart from being state election commissioner.

“As per the Committee of Administrators (CoA) guidelines, we had to appoint an ex-election commissioner for the cricket association elections. After lot of deliberations, we decided to appoint Sinha as our electoral officer,” said Snehal Parikh, BCA secretary (in-charge).
Parikh said that Sinha is the best man for the job and no one will question his credibility. He added that the opposition had made several allegations during the last BCA polls. “We didn’t want to take any chance this time,” Parikh said. The association may see an election in October this year. He added that the BCA is now a fully compliant association as its new constitution has been approved by CoA and the BCCI. TNN
