RAJKOT: It was a night of commotion at Manjuka Chowkadi on the 150-feet Ring Road in Rajkot after a speeding premium luxury car rammed into two cars on Friday night. Though no casualty was reported in the accident, a doctor couple along with their two daughters sustained minor injuries in one of the two cars, while the driver of the second car was also injured.
After the accident, the luxury car, too, fell by the roadside, while its driver fled after abandoning his vehicle on the spot.
According to the complaint lodged by Dr Nikunj Viradia (33), he along with his wife Dr Radhika and their two daughters — Karni (2) and Dwari (4) — were going in their car for dinner in Jamnagar Road.
“At Manjuka Chowkadi, the luxury car came speeding towards Dr Viradia’s car but first rammed into another car that was going ahead before hitting Dr Viradia’s car. After it was hit, Dr Viradia’s car fell by the roadside, leaving both husband and wife with inuries in their back and face, while their two-year-old daughter’s upper teeth were broken,” said an official from University police station.

Shailesh Makwana (30), who was driving the first car to be hit, was also injured. “Shailesh and his family were returning home after having dinner when the accident occurred. We have been able to identify the owner of the luxury car as Bhavesh on basis of the car’s registration number,” the official added.
While the police have launched a manhunt for Bhavesh, they are yet to ascertain whether the car was being driven by Bhavesh himself or by somebody else.
