Fall River Heritage State Park announces the September 2019 Programs.

Saturday, Sept. 7

Boardwalk Ramble: Free music performances, from noon to 2:30 p.m., on the Boardwalk as part of the Spindle City Fest. Musicians will be found at three locations along the boardwalk.

Saturday, Sept. 7, 14, 21 and 28

Crabbing the Quequechan, 1:30 p.m., on the footbridge. Meet on the Kaplan Footbridge in front of the Fall River Heritage State Park Visitor Center. This event is suitable for all ages; children must be accompanied by an adult. Rain will cancel this program.

Saturday, Sept. 14

Family Fun Tree Day, 9 a.m. to noon, in the picnic area. Celebrate the benefits of trees with the Fall River Tree Planting Program. This program combines fun with nature with a tree identification walk and help plant a tree. Suitable for all ages; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Saturday, Sept. 14

Rockfest Community Carnival, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the meadow. An afternoon of family fun with refreshments, face painting, carnival, games, free clothes, hygiene products, school supplies, a raffle and more. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

Lunch Meets Lecture, noon to 12:45 p.m., in the Visitor Center Theater. Best for ages 16 and up. Explore the legacy of photographer sociologist Lewis Hines. Bring a picnic lunch.

Through Our Eyes exhibit in the Community Gallery. This selection of photographs focuses on families and celebration and the diversity of cultures in Fall River. Continues until Sept. 15

Creation Station; free hands on activities for the whole family. All ages welcome

The Fabric of Fall River film in the Visitor Center Theater. The film showcases the rich history of Fall River. Run time is 34 minutes.

Lincoln Park Remembered film. Run time 45 minutes.

Faces of Fall River exhibit in the Visitors Center. Meet the people of Fall River through a gallery of classic black and white photographs from the era when the city was the premier textile manufacturing city on North America

Threads of Fall River exhibit. It is a permanent exhibit celebrating the cultural, ethnic and industrial history of Fall river

Fall River Heritage State Park is located at 200 Davol St. All programs are free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the DCR Lot at 5 Water St. An adult must accompany children.
