“Redmi K30 will come as a successor to the Redmi K20, which was launched just last month in India”
Redmi K30, the successor to the popular Redmi K20 smartphone, will come with 5G support, the brand’s general manager has confirmed. Redmi’s general manager, Lu Weibing, took to Weibo, the popular Chinese microblogging website, to confirm the upcoming handset’s name and also added that the Redmi K30 smartphone will feature support for 5G as well. Unfortunately, Weibing didn’t share if the upcoming smartphone will have both 4G and 5G variants or if it will be 5G-only. Considering the Redmi series has offered incredible value for money to date, it won’t be a surprise if the 5G variant of the Redmi K30 is offered at an affordable price as well.
To recall, Xiaomi launched the Redmi K20 series smartphones just last month in India. If we talk about the specifications, the Redmi K20 Pro comes with a 7th-gen in-display fingerprint sensor and a layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6 at both the front and back. The handset is equipped with a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen with 1,080 x 2,340 pixels screen resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset. To drive the graphics, there is Adreno 640 included in the phone.
In terms of optics, the Redmi K20 Pro features a rear-facing triple camera setup, which includes a 48MP f/1.7 main sensor, a 13MP f/2.4 secondary snapper, and an 8MP telephoto f/2.4 shooter. For selfies and video calling, you get a 20MP f/2.0 motorised pop-up snapper. The company says the pop-up module can rise in less than a second and has been tested 300,000 times to ensure durability. For protection, the module features sapphire glass on top and can retract automatically when the gyroscope detects it has been dropped. The smartphone is fuelled by a beefy 4,000mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging. Moving to the pricing, the Redmi K20 Pro price is available for Rs 27,999 and Rs 30,999, for the 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants, respectively.
