Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi on Sunday dedicated her 232nd weekend round to former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley by participating in a plantation drive along the bund of the Bahour lake.
According to a press release from Raj Nivas, students from Pondicherry University along with volunteers participated in the drive and planted saplings along the 8-km-long-bund of the lake.
Special prayer
A special prayer was performed in memory of Jaitley at the venue.
The completion of the mission will be celebrated on September 15 with the local population of Bahour. The event will be marked with a trek along the bunds by students, volunteers, local communities and public officials. S.D. Sundaresan, Additional Secretary, Raj Nivas will coordinate the mission Bahour Trek-cum-Mission Green Puducherry.
