Teacher arrested for uploading obscene photos of estranged wife

BERHAMPUR: A teacher from the upper primary school in Gajapati district was arrested for allegedly creating fake accounts on a social networking site and uploading obscene pictures of his estranged wife.
Ganteda Satish, 27, had married the victim about a year ago. However, the marriage did not last long. He divorced her on grounds of suspicion about four months ago with the mutual consent of family members.
"Ganteda of Poluru near Paralakhemundi, who used to work at a school at Partada in Kasinagara block, was arrested and forwarded to court on Saturday," Bibekanand Swain, inspector in charge (Paralakhemundi), said. Police seized his mobile phone, two SIMs, a chip where the objectionable photographs and videos of his former wife were recorded from his possession
He was arrested following the complaint of a 23-year old woman of Paralakhemundi. She had said in her complaint that some unknown miscreants had created a fake account on a social media site and uploaded some of her obscene pictures and videos on August 1. "We had registered a case and had launched an investigation to find out the culprit," said Swain.
During the course of investigation, they came to know that the main culprit in the case was her former husband. The accused has confessed to his wrongdoing, police claimed. "We suspect the accused might have done this act to take revenge," police said.
Swain said the seized mobile phones, SIMs and the chip would be sent to the laboratory for testing.
