PATNA: Independent Mokama MLA Anant Singh was sent to Beur central jail in the state capital on Sunday after the ACJM court at Barh remanded him in judicial custody for six days in connection with the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, 26 live cartridges, a magazine and two hand grenades from his Ladma residence in rural Patna on August 16.
There was heavy police deployment at the airport as well as on the Barh court campus to thwart any attempt by Anant's supporters to create law and order problem.
The bahubali MLA was produced before the Barh court in the case lodged against him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Arms Act.
The court had issued non-bailable warrant against him. Anant would be produced before the Barh court again on August 30.
Anant, also known as 'Chhote Sarkar' among his supporters, had surrendered before a Saket court in Delhi on Friday.
He was brought to Patna from Delhi by a morning flight on Sunday.

Patna SSP Garima Malik said police would move the court on Monday to seek Anant's custodial remand for interrogation about the source of assault rifle and explosives.
The MLA had been released from the Beur jail on April 29, 2017 after his arrest from his official residence by the then Patna SSP, Vikas Vaibhav, on June 25, 2015 during a raid leading to recovery of few empty magazines of INSAS rifle and blood-stained clothes, which were suspected to be of one Putush Yadav who had been murdered in Barh.
