Share market update: BSE Power index down; Adani Power falls over 1%

Among the 50 stocks in Nifty, 19 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

NEW DELHI: The BSE Power index was trading lower in Monday's session.

Shares of Adani Power (down 1.62 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (down 1.24 per cent), KEC International (down 1.18 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India (down 0.94 per cent), GMR Infrastructure (down 0.67 per cent) and JSW Energy (down 0.52 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.

While shares of Reliance Infrastructure (up 3.98 per cent), Adani Transmission (up 1.88 per cent) and Kalpataru Power Transmissions (up 1.53 per cent) were among the top gainers at around the same time.

The S&P BSE Power index was trading down 0.32 per cent down at 1,855.19 around 10:41 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 7.55 points at 10,821.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 3.78 points at 36,704.94.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, Bharti Infratel, Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, SBI, Bank of India, DLF and PNB were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
