Teachers contribute big in nation building: Punjab edu secy

MANSA: Recognising the contribution of teachers in ensuring better results of the students belonging to government schools and aiming to motivate them for further improvement, Punjab Education department secretary Krishan Kumar on Saturday honoured 1100 government high and high secondary school teachers for giving better results in the previous year.
Earlier, such honours were being provided at Chandigarh or Mohali but this time the honour program was held at Mansa and was district specific. The secretary honoured the teachers whose students and schools gave better results at many places even better than the renowned private schools.
Krishan Kumar on the occasion asked the teachers to give their best so that students could make mark in state level and go ahead in shaping their future and subsequently serve the nation. He said the teachers have biggest contribution in nation building as they produce future leaders in every sphere of life. The society accords full respect to teachers and they (teachers) must fulfill their aspirations and contribute in making the nation a better place to live".
Interestingly many of the teachers fear from Krishan Kumar as he is known as a hard administrator but on Saturday teachers were seen talking to him in friendly way.
