Tamil Nadu govt launches Education TV for school students

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday launched Education TV, an exclusive 24x7 channel for school students.
The channel will telecast various programmes, including rhymes, songs and video lessons and coaching classes.
The chief minister said the channel would be available at channel number 200 in Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV.
He asked the students to make use of the programmes to aid their learning.
"Nearly 50% of our programmes will be based on school syllabus and the remaining programmes will focus on inculcating values, discipline and environmental awareness. Coaching classes for various competitive exams like NEET and JEE also will be telecast," an official said.
A team of 25 teachers will run the channel. In the first phase, 32 programmes will be telecast.

All government schools will be provided with cable TV connections to enable the students watch the channel.
