Donald Trump's only regret on China is 'not raising the tariffs higher': White House

BIARRITZ: The White House said Sunday that President Donald Trump's statement about having some regrets over his trade war against China had been misunderstood as a softening of his position.

"The president was asked if he had 'any second thought on escalating the trade war with China'. His answer has been greatly misinterpreted," spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said.
"President Trump responded in the affirmative — because he regrets not raising the tariffs higher."
