Haryana Congress chief asks party workers to unite against BJP

Haryana Congress president Ashok Tanwar addresses gathering in Barara
AMBALA: Haryana Congress president Ashok Tanwar attended a ‘Satta Parivartan Samaroh’ during his visit to Barara town of Ambala district on Sunday, where he asked the party workers and his supporters to unite in order to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming state assembly elections. It was organised by Mullana assembly ticket hopeful Mithlesh Chaudhary in Barara town of Ambala district.
As the photos of the Congress’s senior leader and former Haryana chief minister (CM) Bhupinder Singh Hooda were found missing from posters at the Barara rally, it was speculated that Hooda, Kumari Selja and Phool Chand Mullana supporters based in Barara did not attend Tanwar’s rally in Barara.

While addressing the gathering, Tanwar slammed the Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar’s Jan Ashirvad Yatra and alleged misuse of state machinery to run the BJP election campaign in Haryana.
Tanwar said, “Instead of the Jan Ashirwad Yatra, Haryana CM’s rally has become ‘Ticket Kato Yatra’. CM Khattar hardly visited the public in the last five years and now he is taking assessment throughout the state to settle the ticket deals and to decide on whose ticket to cut for the upcoming elections.”
On questioning about uniting with Hooda and his missing photo from posters, Tanwar said, “It is a question of every leader's supporters and my photos are often seen missing in Hooda’s rallies. There is no such matter as we are working for the Congress party. It is not a matter of discussion and all should be smart enough to sense the ground reality and work to unite the Congress in the state.”

Later, Tanwar visited protesting sugarcane farmers of Ambala region in Begna River of Naraingarh area where he announced to support the protesting farmers and also alleged scam of illegal mining worth Rs 3 lakh crore in Haryana by the incumbent BJP leaders.
Tanwar said, “We stand by the side of protesting farmers as they are being ignored by the ruling government which is busy in organising yatra. We will burn effigies of Haryana CM in coming days in our support to the farmers."
"BJP’s leader Nayab Saini has ripped off the rivers of the region and in Haryana, the mining scam worth Rs 3 lakh crore has been committed in the last five years. The mostly exploited rivers are from the Naraingarh region and despite that Nayab Saini talks of the development works. The amount of exploitation which has been done in the last five year had never happened earlier", alleged Tanwar.

During his visit in Begna River, Tanwar also obstructed traffic for some time and climbed an overloaded truck carrying mined sand and alleged, “This is a clear proof of loot done by the ruling government and this truck does not possess any legal documents.”
