Rasjasthan woman killed in row over water, brother-in-law booked

KOTA: A scuffle among family members over filling drinking water from a public hand pump in Seswali town of Baran district on Friday claimed the life of a 27-year-old woman. The woman was allegedly hit with a brick by her brother-in-law, following which she was rushed to the hospital and later succumbed to injuries.

The woman, identified as Sheela Bairwa, a resident of Kalupura Mohalla of Seswali town in Baran district on Friday evening died during treatment at MBS Hospital in Kota, where she was referred at noon in critical condition from Baran district hospital, after she was attacked with a brick by her brother-in-law earlier in the morning, said SHO at Seswali police station Narpatdan Singh. The woman had sustained critical head injuries in the incident.
On the report by the family members of the deceased, police have booked her brother-in-law, identified as Mukesh Bairwa (29), for murder under section 302 of IPC. The accused in the matter has been detained and is being interrogated. The body was on Friday handed over to family members after postmortem, the SHO said.
