NOIDA: A 27-year old electrician suffered serious injuries after a wine cooler installed at a wine shop in Sector 110 allegedly blew up while he was trying to repair it. According to police, the accident occurred around 3pm on Friday when electrician Kashif, a native of Meerut, was repairing the gas leakage in the cooler.
Sub-inspector Ankush Singh told TOI that they received an information about the incident around 3pm and since a lot of smoke was being emitted out of the shop, a call was made to the fire services as well and fire tenders reached the spot.

“However, when we arrived at the spot, it was found that the wine cooler which was installed in the shop had suffered a leakage due to which the shop owner had called the electrician from a cooler’s company,” he said.
Singh added that Kashif was badly burnt as the cooler’s compressor allegedly blew up. “When we arrived at the spot, we found Kashif badly burnt,” he said. The sub-inspector added that the shop too suffered a lot of damage. Kashif was taken to Yatharth Hospital where he is in the ICU. Kashif, who works for the cooler company at New Delhi’s Shastri Park, Delhi, is married and regularly commutes to the office from Meerut, police said. No complaint has been lodged in the matter so far as Kashif is still under treatment.
