PUNE: The case in which an impersonator was produced before the court by a sub-inspector of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has taken a turn. It has come to light that the RPF police station in-charge, Daund railway station manager and another person went to the magistrate’s house to ‘settle’ the matter. Besides, the impersonator has not yet been identified by Pune rural police.

Police Inspector Sunil Mahadik, in-charge of Daund police station under Pune rural police, said, “We are yet to arrest Sub-Inspector Londhe or the impersonator whose details are not being shared with us by the RPF.”

The case was registered with Daund police station on Saturday against RPF Sub-Inspector SS Londhe, a resident of Indapur. Londhe and the unidentified impersonator have been booked for impersonation, forgery and other charges.

RAILWAY CASE
One Indrajit Yadav was caught travelling without ticket in Duranto Express. He manhandled the railway staff and did not pay the fine. So a case was filed against him. He was produced in court and released him on bail. Yadav was to be produced in court on August 13. Londhe produced  an impersonator. The magistrate ordered that Londhe and the impersonator be arrested.

OFFICIALS TRY TO ‘SETTLE’ MATTER
As per the FIR registered with Daund police, RPF police station Inspector Sarpor, Daund Railway Station Manager Samuel Clifton and one Singh went to the house of the magistrate at 6.45 pm on August 13. “They said Londhe has committed a mistake but asked for not taking any action against him,” states the complaint lodged by assistant superintendent of the railway magistrate court, Daund. The magistrate mentioned  the visit of the three persons in the case file on August 14.

Yadav was produced before the court in Solapur on Friday and remanded in magisterial custody.  The RPF divisional security commissioner (Solapur) has suspended the sub-inspector and Inspector Sarpor, in-charge of RPF police station. An inquiry has been ordered against the station manager and another person who visited the magistrate’s house. “Action will be taken based on the inquiry report,” said an officer from the railways.
