Nirmal Krida & Samaj Prabodhan Trust emerges champion

PUNE: Nirmal Krida and Samaj Prabodhan Trust, Aurangabad emerged champions of the Aurangabad leg of the Puneri Paltan Inter-Club Kabaddi tournament, which concluded on Sunday.

Suresh Jadhav of Nirmal Krida and Samajh Prabodhan Trust team emerged as the best raider and his teammate Alkesh Chavan was adjudged best defender after they registered 36-25 win over SAI Kridamandal.

As a part of its endeavour to promote Kabaddi at grassroot levels, Puneri Paltan put together the event at Prozone Mall in which 24 teams participated including two girls’ teams.

The winners received a trophy and prize of Rs.15,000, while runners up, SAI Kridamandal, Parbhani settled for Rs .10,000 and a trophy. 

“By means of this tournament, we wanted to connect with our fans in Maharashtra and provide a platform for the talented Kabaddi players of Maharashtra. We were thrilled to see the passion and skills displayed by these young players who will form the next generation of Kabaddi players,” is how Kailash Kandpal, CEO, Insurekot Sports, described the Puneri Paltan’s initiative.
