This laboratory will be primarily used for adopting procedures with regard to pacemaker and related devices, electrophysiology and ablation, peripheral angiography, angioplasty and pulmonary thromboembolism and other emergency procedures. This will benefit cardiac patients by decreasing the waiting period and make patient care more efficient.
The department has two other laboratories which are providing benefits to patients suffering from coronary artery disease for performing complex coronary angioplasty and for structural heart disease. It is in the process of procuring two advanced integrated catherization laboratories, which will be beneficial for the patients through use of complex coronary and structural cardiac procedures. This new technology will have interfaces, including transesophageal echo, electrophysiology, and other systems in one laboratory.
