PUNE: To ensure efficient implementation of the Mid-Day Meal programme in the State, the government has appointed a squad of experts to monitor the programme. The squad would be headed by the Joint Director of Education (Primary) Dinkar Temkar.

“The primary responsibility of the squad would be to visit schools across the State, which are under the purview of the Mid-Day Meal and oversee the programme implementation. The squad would also be responsible for inspecting the godowns and vehicles of the suppliers,” said the notification signed by the Education Director (Primary) Dattatray Jagtap.

The notification also stated that if the squad finds any irregularities, strict action would be taken against those involved. They would take at least two tours each month.
