Paramedics treated a man in his 30s for burns. He was rushed to the The Alfred hospital in a critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing and police are treating the fire as suspicious.

The centre was roped off with police tape on Monday morning and a window appeared to have been smashed

A local worker said she did not think break-ins at businesses were common in the area.

Separately, there was also a fire in Eltham that broke out about 9.30pm on Sunday. A man and two women managed to escape but one of their dogs was found dead inside the home.

There was also a fire in Footscray at a chemist on Droop Street about 1.45am on Monday. The MFB cut into the chemist to stop it spreading to stores on either side of it.

The causes of those fires are yet to be determined.
