“The Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ update carries software version N97*FXXU1ASH5, August 2019 security patch, and a slew of improvements”
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 series has received its first software update, ahead of its launch in India on August 20th and commencement of global sales on August 23rd. The update carries software version N97*FXXU1ASH5 for both Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ smartphones. The update carries August 2019 security patch for the handsets, along with a bunch of improvements including fingerprint recognition, camera picture quality, and touch screen performance. The stability of the camera on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 series has been improved as well. Samsung took the wraps off the handsets at its Unpacked event in New York, earlier this month.
Talking about the update, it has a download size of 307.64MB and a longer changelog compared to the first Galaxy S10 series update that Samsung pushed out earlier this year. The Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ are said to offer a better experience, following the update. The firmware provides better recognition for the handsets’ ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, improves performance of touch screen, camera stability and picture quality. It also fixes the bugs on the Galaxy Note 10 series, brings “new and/or enhanced features,” and makes the overall performance better.
The update is being rolled out in most European markets at the moment and should arrive on devices in other parts of the world, including India, in the coming days. You’ll be notified of the update in the notifications center of Galaxy Note 10 or Note 10+. In case it’s not, you can manually download the update from the Settings » Software update menu of the phone, as long as the update is available in your country.
The Galaxy Note 10 series comes at a starting price of Rs 69,999. This goes up to Rs 89,999 for the high-end variant of the ‘Plus’ variant. As far as the specs go, the new Galaxy Note series features come with Exynos 9825 chipset paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB onboard storage. The Galaxy Note 10 sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ display, while the Galaxy Note 10+ offers a bigger 6.8-inch screen with QHD+ resolution. Both the handsets have a punch-hole display and an ultrasonic optical fingerprint scanner. The Note 10 flaunts a triple camera module including 12MP, 12MP, and 16MP sensors, while the Plus model features an additional ToF sensor, apart from these three cameras. They are being offered in multiple colour variants including Aura Glow, Aura Red, Aura White, and Aura Black.
