The Chittoor Police on Sunday took a woman and her boyfriend into custody on charges of killing the former’s husband at Chittapara village in Gudipala mandal, 10 km from here.

According to the Chittoor Rural (East) Police, Ramadasu (40) and Mogilamma (35) were married sixteen years ago and were living at Chittapara village. The woman reportedly developed a relationship with her neighbour. The couple reportedly had an argument over this issue on Saturday night after which Ramadasu went to sleep at a hut in the backyard of the house.

On Sunday morning, the villagers found Ramadasu in his bed with his throat slit. The Gudipala Police rushed to the spot and took his wife and her boyfriend into custody after learning of the allegations against the woman.

Police said the duo has reportedly confessed to the crime. Ramadasu’s body was sent to the district hospital for autopsy. A case was registered.

Student ‘ends life’

Hari (19), a second year degree student of a private college in Puttur, reportedly ended his life at his house at Vagattur village of K.V.B. Puram mandal on Saturday midnight. According to the police, the youth was depressed as he had failed in the degree first year exam. Those having suicidal thoughts can call 100 for counselling.
