Vijayawada: Locked in toilet, Class I student dies in hospital

VIJAYAWADA: Nearly two weeks after a Class 3 student was found murdered at Challapalli BC welfare hostel, a Class I student died under suspicious circumstances at the municipal primary school in Punganur town of Chittoor district on Monday.
The deceased boy was identified as Harshavardhan (6). According to Punganur station house officer Arun Kumar, the incident came to notice around 9 am when the hostel warden found the boy lying unconscious inside a locked bathroom. “The boy had gone inside to use the bathroom. He was found unconscious inside with the door locked from outside. The hostel warden, who opened the door after hearing some noise from the rest room, rushed him to a local government hospital where he was pronounced dead while receiving treatment,” Kumar told TOI.
