Man in court over knifepoint robberies at shops in Conwy
A man has appeared in court accused of two knifepoint robberies in two days at shops in Conwy county.
Leon Carl Jones, 42, of Beresford Road, Oxton, Birkenhead, did not apply for bail when he appeared at court in Llandudno, and was sent to Caernarfon crown court in custody. He will appear there on September 16.

Safety fears over lollipop patrol cuts - but one county's got rid of them all
A decade of dwindling budgets has seen councils halve the number of lollipop men and women employed across North Wales, new figures have revealed.
While there were at least 147 school patrol staff employed across the region in 2008/09, this figure has been slashed to just 72 in 2019/20.

Pervert was free to roam online dating sites while under investigation over grooming
A sex offender who groomed and abused a teenage girl was free to chat up women on dating sites during the 18 months it took police to bring him to court.
Michael David Jones, 32, was finally sentenced to three years and four months behind bars last week for grooming and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in November 2017.

Incident in Caernarfon
There was an incident overnight in Caernarfon involving the police, ambulance service and firefighters.
Emergency services were called at around 2am to Ffordd Bethel.
A fire service spokesman said they assisted other services with an incident there, but said no further details were available from them at this time.
We will aim to find out more details about this incident as soon as we can.
