Police are scouring bushland on the Sunshine Coast hinterland in a desperate search for a teenage boy who hasn't been seen for almost two weeks.

Michael Ryan, 14, was last seen on Beerwah Street in Landsborough on the morning of August 7, with a black and yellow pushbike, wearing a black jacket and black wool beanie.

Aerial and ground searches of bushland near the small town of Mooloolah Valley are underway, after his bike was found on Saturday.

He has previously shown an interest in the outdoors and his phone last pinged in the area two weeks ago.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have information on his whereabouts to come forward.
