MUMBAI: A high alert along the coast of
Palghar was issued early Saturday after a 'suspicious'
boat was spotted in the waters at nearby
Daman.
Police sources said that fishermen from Palghar, who were in the high sea had reported movement of an unidentified boat along the coast of Daman ( in the Union Territory of Daman and Diu) in the early hours of Saturday.
"We got information from intelligence sources about a mysterious speedboat along Daman coast," said assistant inspector Rahul Patil of Vangaon police station. The Palghar police station and Coast Guard have been put on high alert.
Police security was beefed up along the Palghar coast around 2 am. Fishermen have been asked to keep a vigil and report any suspicious movements that they may notice at sea.
