On Friday, the industrialist took to Twitter to laud a fan's request for a Mahindra SUV on his birthday, with the definition of the word 'chutzpah'.
"Sir.. Big fan of yours. Can you gift me a Mahindra Thar on my birthday...," the man, named Vipul, had posted.
Sixty-four-year-old Mahindra replied to his request by saying: "Word lesson of the day: 'CHUTZPAH'. He then went on to explain the meaning of the word, that is, "extreme self-confidence or audacity (usually used approvingly)."
"Love him or hate him, you have to admire Vipul's chutzpah. Full marks for chutzpah, Vipul, but unfortunately I can't say yes. Mera dhandha bund ho jayega! (My business will shut down)," he added.
Vipul's tweet requesting a Mahindra Thar for his birthday came in response to a separate post by the Mahindra group chairman where he said that a recently launched bus from the company should be titled "Tom Cruzio" since it was "Mission Impossible."
