LUCKNOW: Do not click pictures of sacrifice on
Eid-ul-Azha (Baqrid), nor post any such pictures on social media, is the advise given out to
Muslims by Imam of the city’s biggest
Aishbagh Eidgah,
Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali.
Addressing devotees who had gathered at the Eidgah, after
Friday prayers, Maulana Farangi Mahali laid out a detailed seven point advisory to be mindful of during Baqrid celebrations on Monday, lest an untoward incident takes place.
Apart from reminding his fellow worshipers to not sacrifice animals which are prohibited from the act in the country owing to religious sentiments of several communities, Maulana Farangi Mahali said, "No photographs should be clicked while an animal is being sacrificed. Such photos, if any, should also not find their way to social media, as it can hurt sentiments and Islam does not allow us to hurt any sentiments."
Muslims in the city have also been asked to not leave remnants from the sacrifice unattended by the road side or allow blood to flow in side drains apart from maintaining cleanliness on the festival.
"No one should perform the sacrifice in by-lanes or on the road. This would create problems for people and this is completely against the teachings of Islam and the Prophet," he said.
Informing worshipers about the arrangements for dustbins to be made by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) specially for Baqrid, the cleric urged them to use the same for waste disposal, rather than leaving them by the road side.
