The counting of voting for Vellore Lok Sabha elections is taking place on Friday. There are 28 candidates in fray but the main battle is between AIADMK's AC Shanmugam and DMK's DM Kathir Anand. Voting for Vellore was held on 5th August. In the Lok Sabha elections, UPA won 37 out of 38 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu for which voting took place. The election was rescinded in Vellore by EC.

This race is likely to go down to the wire. DMK is now pulling back and the current AIADMK lead is little short of 9 thousand votes. Let's see how the trend pans out in the next hour or so.
Current lead is over 14,000 votes for AIADMK candidate.
AIADMK ahead by 12,000 votes. AIADMK candidate has got 1.05 lakh votes and DMK candidate has got 93 thousand votes so far.

Election was cancelled after recovery of money from DMK candidate’s warehouse. It was scheduled to take place on April 18. EC acted after police filed complaint against DMK candidate Kathir Anand. He was charged under Representation of People's Act for giving wrong information.
