An elderly Queensland man who went missing after a medical appointment has been found dead.

Maxwell Morrison was last seen on Monday afternoon after attending an appointment in Samford, north of Brisbane.

His white ute was discovered by police in a ditch in bushland at Mount Glorious two days later.

His body was found on a creek bank nearby at 10.55am on Friday, about 500 metres north of where his ute was found.

Police say the insulin-dependent diabetic was suffering from the early stages of dementia and his death was not suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
