Independence Dry to be a dry day in Chennai

CHENNAI: Tasmac wine shops, bars and clubs serving liquor will remain closed here on August 15 due to Independence Day.
In a press release here on Friday, Chennai district collector R Seethalakshmi said there shall be no sale of liquor on that day.
"If any violation of the provision is noticed, necessary action will be taken," the collector warned.
There are more than 300 liquor outlets in the city.
