Rajkot: Six loan sharks have been booked for usurping two shops and a two-wheeler belonging to a trader who could not repay Rs 15 lakh loan he had taken from them.
On basis of a complaint lodged by Dipak Makwana (46), police booked Amrut Rathod, Jusab Sodha, Dilipsinh Jhala, Arwind Gadhvi, Dharmesh Dabhi and Mom David. In his complaint, Makwana said he was unable to repay the interest as well as the loan amount which he had taken from the accused. They then usurped his two shops by making him sign their ownership documents and also taken away his two-wheeler.
“Makwana thought that the matter was resolved after he had surrendered his shops and the vehicle to the accused. However, it wasn’t so. The accused resumed their recovery demand of the interest on the loan and started issuing threats to his life. Tired of this, Makwana finally decided to lodge a complaint against the accused,” said an official from Thorala police station.
Makwana had to borrow money from the accused to meet medical expenses of his elder brother's treatment of a serious ailment. Meanwhile, following the complaint, the police have launched a manhunt for the accused.
