BUTA wants notification of recruitment modified

VADODARA: Baroda University Teachers’ Association (BUTA) has raised questions on the notification issued by the MS University (MSU) for filling up various teaching posts.
Citing government resolution (GR) with regards to reservation given to economically weaker sections (EWS), BUTA has said that the notification violates the conditions given for EWS.

BUTA said the notification mentions that the candidates applying for the post of associate professor and professors should have annual income of more than Rs 8 lakh. For a person to be eligible for the EWS quota, the annual family income should be Rs 8 lakh or less.
BUTA said the university should ratify the notification and withdraw all post notified under EWS quota for the posts of associate professor and professor. MSU has invited applications for 12 posts of professors and nine posts of associate professors under EWS quota.
