Mentally ill woman get help from cops

Rajkot: In a humanitarian endeavour, Junagadh police not only got a woman with learning difficulties treated at the Junagadh Civil Hospital, but also sent her to the Jamnagar Mental Hospital.

Police received an application from a blind widowed woman who, unable to shoulder the responsibility of her mentally ill daughter, had sought police help. Even her son too is mentally ill and leading the life of a vagabond, she said.
“We checked the condition of the woman, identified as Punam Khandheria (28), and found her mentally ill. We got her admitted her to Jamnagar Mental Hospital for treatment,” said Junagadh women’s police.
