A 32-minute film called Chalo Jeete Hain, which is a hagiographical depiction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s early life has won the 56th National Film Award for “Best Film On Family Values” in the non-feature film category.
Hellaro, a Gujarati film directed by Abhishek Shah, won the Best Feature Film award.
Uri: The Surgical Strike, a dramatised version of the first cross border strike by Indian security forces in retaliation to attack on army camp in 2016 won four awards. The lead actor of the film Vicky Kaushal got National Award for best actor. He shares this award with Ayushman Khurana for Andhadhun. South Indian actor Keerthy Suresh won the best actress honour for Mahanati, a biopic on popular yesteryear actor Savitri.
The director of Uri, Aditya Dhar bagged the Best Director award. It also got an award for Best Music Direction for the background score by Shashwat Sachdev. The best audiography award went to its sound designer Bishwadeep Dipak Chatterjee. He shares this award with three others.
The best film on social issues went to Akshay Kumar-starrer Padman inspired by the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu who introduced low-cost sanitary napkins.
