Last batch of 11 stranded in Kuwait return home

MANGALURU: The last batch of 11 youths, who were stranded in Kuwait due to job fraud returned to India this week after spending nearly eight months in that country.
Mohandas M Kamath, an expat working in Kuwait, said that out of 11 youths, three had left to India on August 3 and the rest eight left next day.
Forums helped youth
Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association (KKMA) Karnataka chapter and Bharatiya Pravasi Parishad Kuwait paid the fines of six youths as well sponsored eight flight and bus tickets.
While Bharatiya Pravasi Parishad Kuwait led by Vijay Fernandes and team has sponsored three flight and bus tickets. Raj Bhandary and team of Bharatiya Pravasi Parishad Kuwait paid the fines of two, said Mohandas.
With their return, all the youths from Mangaluru, who were stranded in Kuwait have returned. As many as 23 youths from Mangaluru, returned home three weeks ago.
The plight of the conned youth came to light after a video in which the stranded youths were heard saying they went to Kuwait on a job visa went viral. However, after landing in Kuwait, they realized that they were conned.
Stuck in Sirsi Ghat

The eight from the last batch, who left to Mangaluru from Mumbai and were eager to meet families, were stuck in Sirsi Ghat for several hours.
“We had to go hungry for an entire day. The bus stopped in the ghat section in the morning and only moved after 9.30pm on Monday evening. Happy to be back finally,” said Aziz Abdul Bolayi.
