Two women raped in Mohali hotel

MOHALI: A sensational incident double rape has come to light, in which two women were allegedly raped on Tuesday afternoon in Baltana area of the city, the police said on Thursday.
A 26-year-old woman and her friend were allegedly raped by two men in a hotel located in Baltana area.
Of the victims told the police that around two months ago, Gurpreet, whom she would know previously, called her up and they were in touch again. She knew both accused, Amandeep and Gurpreet.
During their talks, Gurpreet told the victim that he had gone to New Zealand on a tourist visa, after which the victim told him that she also wanted to apply. He said that he would help her out, as he had some sources in the passport office.
On Tuesday, the victim, along with one of her female friends, reached Zirakpur bus stand around 11am, where Gurpreet was waiting in his car, along with his friend Amandeep. Amandeep was in the driving seat. They told the victims that they would first go to a hotel to eat something and from there to the passport office.
Around 2pm, they reached the Baltana hotel, where the two accused raped the women and fled, leaving behind the victims. Subsequently, one of the women called her relatives, who rescued them.
A case under sections 376, 420 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Zirakpur police station.
