Live updates of the situation in J&K after Centre's move to revoke Article 370 provisions

  • Update: Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will be formed on October 31, the 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, CNN-News18 has reported. 

  • Update: Jammu & Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on August 9 visited various localities including Rawalpora, Rambagh, Jawahar Nagar, Sonwar and Rajbagh, in Srinagar. Governor visited the Lalla Ded Hospital and G.B. Pant Children Hospital in Sonwar.

    He also took stock of ration supply in fair price shops which were seen open in various localities. He took note of various animal mandis allowed at different places by the Administration for buying and selling of animals on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

  • Update: Dr Vinay Thusoo, Official Spokesperson of University of Jammu: This is for the information of all concerned that University of Jammu shall remain open on 10th August 2019 (Saturday). However, schedule of  admissions, classwork and examinations  shall be notified separately.

  • Update: JK govt shifts 20 more 'troublemakers' from Kashmir to Agra; Mian Qayoom among 25 flown out on August 8

    They were taken in a special IAF plane to Uttar Pradesh and lodged in Agra Central Jail. The authorities had airlifted 25 people, including president of Kashmir High Court Bar Association Mian Qayoom, on August 8 as a precautionary measure in the wake of constitutional changes made by the government.
