Nagpur: City police chief BK Upadhyay felicitated Kalamna police squad which nabbed three such goons who had fled from the custody of Madhya Pradesh police. The squad was invited to the CP office where the top cop handed over appreciation certificates and bouquets on Thursday.
Sub-inspector Amit Kumar Atram, the detection in-charge of Kalamna police, along with his team comprising constables Dasrath Tumsare, Dilip Jadhav, Narendra Tidke and others were present. Senior PI Vishwanath Chavan too was present.
On August 7, Atram and his team were engaged in ‘good morning’ patrolling, which derives its name from the early hours of the day during which such surveillance exercise is conducted, when they had received information regarding public having nabbed a suspected thief at Bhandewadi Pardi.

After taking him into custody, he had turned out to be one of three goons who had fled from the custody of Mohkhed police of MP. Atram had nabbed his two other accomplices through tactful interrogation. The three goons, who had killed a person while engaging in an incident of dacoity, were handed over to the MP police.
CP Upadhyay had decided to congratulate and reward the cops behind the sound detection to encourage others to follow such examples.
