LUCKNOW: A local court has summoned singer Honey Singh on September 11 for his alleged indecent songs.
IPS officer Amitabh Thakur had lodged an FIR against Honey Singh with Gomtinagar police station in December 2012, alleging that Singh’s two songs were an insult to women. An FIR was registered under Sections 292, 293 and 294 of the Indian Penal Code.
After investigation, the police had submitted a chargesheet against Honey Singh in June 2013.

Chief judicial magistrate also took cognizance of the charges in December 2013 and directed the singer to appear before the court to face trial.
When Honey Singh did not respond to the summons, the court issued a warrant against him on March 25 this year.
