PUNE: Weeks after CM Fadnavis declared that all schools in the State, across boards, need to teach Marathi compulsorily, the State government has formed a committee under Minister for Marathi Bhasha (language) and Culture Vinod Tawde to make recommendations.

“The committee will study the language curriculums in other State boards and compare them to make report and recommendations regarding how Marathi could be made compulsory in all schools,” a GR issued by the State said.

While Tawde will head the committee, Principal Secretary of Education Department Vandana Krishna is among other members of the committee.
