Live updates of the situation in J&K after Centre's move to revoke Article 370 provisions

  • Update: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh says government's decision to nullify Article 370 and creating two Union Territories in J&K and Ladakh has ended the discrimination faced by the people during the last 70 years.

  • Update: Srinagar- Around 70 terrorists and hardcore pro-Pakistan separatists from Kashmir valley have been shifted to Agra. The terrorists and separatists were shifted in a special plane provided by the Indian Air Force. (Sources told ANI)

  • Time will tell if peace prevails in J&K: Kamal Nath on Article 370

    Only time will tell how many employment opportunities are generated and whether acts of terrorism come down in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370...that is the biggest question before us.

    Talking about what will happen in a day or two after the removal of Article 370 is actually meaningless.

    It remains to be seen whether peace prevails in Jammu and Kashmir and terror activities come down. (PTI)

  • Update: 

    As per directions issued by Chief Secretary Jammu and Kashmir, all Government employees who are working at divisional level, district level and those serving in civil secretariat Srinagar, to report back to their duties with immediate effect.

    It is further intimated that necessary arrangements regarding smooth and secure working environment for the employees have been made by the administration.

    As per an order issued here today by the district administration Samba, all the educational institutions including government and private schools shall re-open with effect from 9th of August 2019, to function as usual.
