Land Rover Defender “Project Ghost” Has Numerous Mods, 430 HP LS3 V8

East Coast Defender (ECD) have made a name for themselves by taking different iterations of the Land Rover Defender and turning them into more capable off-roaders as well as adding more oomph.

Their latest creation is called the Project Ghost. It is based on the D110 version and sports an Aston Martin China Grey exterior color, steel front bumper with winch and incorporated LED DRls, an LED light bar mounted on the roof, steel side steps, roll cage and 20-inch Kahn Mondial Retro wheels, wrapped in off-road tires.

The interior has been reworked, too, with grey leather and green stitching, Puma Classic front seats, 60/40-split second-row and another four inward-facing jump seats in the load area. The wood grain steering wheel, different gauges, infotainment system, complete with Apple CarPlay and a JL Audio amplified sound system, rear air conditioning vents, towing package and dusk-sensing headlights are part of the aftermarket mods.

As it’s often the case with most of ECD’s projects, this Defender went through a heart transplant, with its original engine been swapped for something more exciting: a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 sourced from a Corvette. It puts out an impressive 430 horsepower, which makes the SUV much more powerful, and is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

With so many upgrades, which you can check out in detail in our image Gallery, it’s very likely that its owner won’t care that much about the new Defender, which is probably weeks away from its unveiling. After all, this one is more special, don’t you think?
