Widespread heavy rainfall in state; showers to continue

Bhopal,  Widespread rainfall is being recorded in the state in the last two days. The Met Department said a deep depression over Bay of Bengal is giving bountiful rains to state. Heavy rainfall was witnessed in Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions in the past 24 hours. Heavy rainfall was witnessed in Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions in the past 24 hours.Warning of heavy rainfall has been issued for Shivpuri, Datia, Sheopur, Sagar, Damoh, Chattarpur, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Annupur, Dindori, Harda, Hoshangabad, Khandwa, Khargone, Burhanpur, Dewas, Raisen, Sehore and Vidisha.

Garoth recorded 17 cm of the rainfall which was the highest rainfall, Nowgong recorded 10 cm of the rainfall, Jabalpur and Tikamgarh recorded 8 cm of rainfall, Shajapur and Seoni recorded 6 cm of rainfall, Bhopal, Guna, Icchawar and Sidhi recorded 5 cm of rainfall.
Warning of heavy rainfall has been issued for Shivpuri, Datia, Sheopur, Sagar, Damoh, Chattarpur, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Annupur, Dindori, Harda, Hoshangabad, Khandwa, Khargone, Burhanpur, Dewas, Raisen, Sehore and Vidisha.

Monsoon system has started to gain strength once again and is becoming active once again in Madhya Pradesh. Isolated places in State have been battered by rains. Weather Department said in forecast that heavy to very heavy rains are likely in sundry parts of many districts.  Rains of high intensity are on cards in Madhya Pradesh from August 8 to August 10. On Tuesday, rains lashed many parts including Jabalpur (39.2 mm), Pachmarhi (34 mm), Sagar (31 mm), Raisen (17 mm), Bhopal (3.6 mm) etc.

As of now, rains are happening in more than 50 percent areas of Madhya Pradesh and from August 8, entire Madhya Pradesh will witness intense rainfall activities. The next spell of rains is going to cut short the deficient rainfall percentage of many areas substantially.
