Singer Vehicle Design Bringing Its Finest Creations To Monterey Car Week

Singer recently celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and will continue the festivities during Monterey Car Week.

It was a decade ago when Singer Vehicle Design was founded and at Monterey in 2009, presented its very first reimagined Porsche 911. In the years since, the company has gone on to develop and sell some of the most desirable 911s on the planet, many of which will congregate in Monterey for the celebrations.

After Singer showed the world what it was capable of in 2009, the company started work on customer cars, initially building a duo with 3.8-liter engines from UK-based specialist Ninemeister. These cars, dubbed Texas Commission and Nebraska Commission, may be among the company’s earliest restomods but they are still absolutely stunning. The Nebraska car will be displayed at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering on August 16.

Singer’s pet project at the moment is its Dynamics and Lightweight Study (DLS) vehicle. The development of this vehicle is reaching its final stages and is undeniably Singer’s most ambitious project to date. The car is powered by a naturally-aspirated, 4.0-liter, air-cooled six-cylinder engine co-developed with Williams Advanced Engineering which pumps out 500 hp and revs to 9000 rpm. The likes of Marino Franchitti and Chris Harris have aided in the development of the car.

Unsurprisingly, buying one of the few DLS models heading to the production line won’t be cheap. In fact, each example costs a minimum of $1.8 million and if customers want some bespoke touches, well, that price only rises.
